The Best of Both Worlds

Every year, just as the weather starts to warm up, we get an influx of requests for lightweight, breathable fabrics.

As you may already know, we love pure linen. Of course, we work in a creative non-corporate environment, so it’s easy to embrace the wrinkling, creasing and casual non-chalance of linen day-to-day. In a more professional setting, a pure linen can look a little too tropical or a little disheveled – I get it.

As a solution to this problem we scoured the textile industry to find the perfect blend with the breathability and texture of linen with the performance and wrinkle resistance of wool. It took some digging, but we eventually found it – in Valle Mosso, an Italian village roughly fifty miles outside of Milan.

Ormezzano is a family-owned fabric mill who’s been innovating menswear textiles since 1924. This year they’ve produced a stunning 75% tropical wool, 25% linen cloth that was exactly what we were looking for. It has the perfect texture to be worn as separates and the handfeel is soft, cool, and crisp. As soon as we found it, I placed my personal order for the Forest version, although it’s also available in Navy, Cloudy Sky, Light Gray, HazelOak…and more (colors available upon request).

Here’s just a taste of how I will be wearing this beauty over the next six (or more) months.

Thanks, as always, for reading.
